Holding a puppy

Phew. What an intense last few weeks. HRG and I were sick, and then his birthday party was upon us. We had grandparents visiting and they left today. Tomorrow my dear friend arrives from Australia. I’m excited and exhausted. 😀

I drafted this long post to HRG in my head that I was going to post here on his birthday and then I decided to just tell him instead. He’s so beautiful and I’m so proud to be his mama. We had an amazing time celebrating his birthday. Yes, I’m a huge believer in celebrating birthdays. For at least a week and maybe even a month!

The night before his birthday, I asked him what he wanted to do. He said, ‘I want to hold a puppy.’

Aww. Bless!

So on the day of his birthday, in between singing happy birthday (proved to be a big hit and so we sang it a lot) and playing, I called and emailed and googled to find a puppy nearby that we could hold. Finally we found two potential places and we were lucky enough to score at the first one- the Berkeley Humane Society!

Our friends met us there, and everyone got in on the hold a puppy action:

The sweet animal control lady who let us hold this little darling loved holding her too:

HRG was so sad to see them go… but so pleased about the experience that he’s still talking about it today! I think I’m going to have to find a puppy we can visit regularly since we’re not in a position to get one of our own. Not yet, anyway!

I’m so glad we didn’t give up on trying to get him his birthday wish. It was well worth it!

I suppose it is but between the biz and the kiddo… not sure I can handle anymore right now! Hopefully we’ll get a dog in a few years. 😀

That is the cutest thing. Wanting to hold a puppy. Weird that you don’t have animals around.

Leave some love or just let me know what's on your mind!!
